SAMSUNG TV house owners are calling the removing of a Google function subsequent month a "main step back".

A notice from Samsung on a help page stated: "Essential:& As a consequence of a change in Google's policy, Google Assistant will not be obtainable on Samsung TVs starting March 1st, 2024.
"Take a look at other choices for voice assistants on Samsung TVs."
The functionality will probably be faraway from all TVs.
The message was spotted by Samsung Community.
It isn't clear what the change in Google's policy is.
Samsung first integrated Google Assistant into its TVs in 2020.
The voice assistant is sort of a standard function on virtually all Android TV and Google TV products and has also been included in some other platforms, together with Samsung's Tizen.
It's typically out there alongside other voice assistants like Amazon Alexa.
Google Assistant disappeared from Samsung's 2023 lineup and now it is set to be faraway from all present Samsung TVs as properly.
LG appears to still carry Google Assistant since it was first launched on their TVs in 2018.
A LG help page still makes reference to the assistant and LG and Google announced a stronger partnership final month with LG TVs getting Chromecast help.
The Samsung TVs affected:
- All 2022 Sensible TV fashions
- All 2021 Sensible TV fashions
- 2020 8K and 4K QLED TVs
- 2020 Crystal UHD TVs
- 2020 Way of life TVs (Body, Serif, Terrace, and Sero)
House owners of Samsung TVs affected by the move can still use different voice assistants Bixby or Amazon Alexa on their gadget.
Some Samsung TV users weren't comfortable concerning the move, with one publish on X, formerly Twitter, calling it "an unlucky and main step again for Samsung".
On a Google help forum page, a consumer wrote: "I'm hoping there will probably be sufficient adverse suggestions that we'd see an replace including Assistant to the alternatives together with Alexa and Bixby.
"You'd assume Google would want their Assistant built-in on as many platforms as potential."
One other added: "I introduced two Samsung TVs again in the day for this specific purpose as not all TVs had Google assistant. It's very disappointing that this choice has been made…
"I am critically considering altering all my residence units to work with Alexa and parting ways with Google altogether."
Although others have been completely satisfied to see the back of it, with one social media consumer writing: "I gained't miss it. Google assistant is fairly dangerous on Samsung tvs."
There's some speculation that the US tech company might be phasing out its current assistant in favour of an upgrade referred to as Gemini.
Google Assistant with Bard may even be powered by Gemini Nano sooner or later, and it will even be launched on non-Google smartphones, too, resembling rival Samsung.
The Sun Online has contacted Samsung and Google for comment.
