Warriors Announce Moses Moody News After Leaving Mavericks Game

Golden State Warriorsswingman Moses Moody went down with a non-contact left knee injury during the team's 137-131 OT win over theDallas Maverickson Tuesday night.

Moody led the Warriors in scoring with 23 points (8-20 FG), three rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks before getting hurt in OT while planting for a breakaway dunk.

Moody had just returned after a 10-game absence due to a wrist injury in tonight's game against the Mavericks, leading the team, given their already-existing injury crisis, which has sidelined the likes ofSteph CurryandJimmy Butler.

Moody was stretchered off the court after his injury, heightening fears that this might be more than just a season-ending setback for the 23-year-old.

Warriors coachSteve Kerrannouncedan updateon Moody immediately after the game.

"Kerr said Moody got x-rays immediately after the game. 'We don't know what it is, but it sure looked bad.'"

The 6-foot-5 guard has played 60 games for Golden State this season with 48 starts. He's 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists on 44.0% shooting from the field in 25.7 minutes per game. Moody's improvement as an outside shooter has been key to his increased role, as the former lottery pick is making 2.5 threes per game on 40.1% shooting.

The Warriors' bench was visibly shaken up after watching Moody go down, with muted celebrations for what was a much-needed come-from-behind OT win on the road. Their concern for Moody goes beyond the competitive landscape of the season, as it could be an injury similar in magnitude to what Butler suffered in February.
