Here is an early prediction for where Jets will pick at 2027 NFL Draft

TheNew York Jetsare loaded up ahead of the 2027 NFL Draft even though we're still a very long ways away from next offseason.

USA TODAY

It's well known that the Jets hold three first-round selections at the 2027 draft.Sports Illustratedprojected where all 32 first-round picks will be at next year's draft... including the trio held by Gang Green.

The two that headed to New York via trades withIndianapolis Coltsand Dallas Cowboys end up being predicted to be at No. 14 and 15, respectively.

But the all important one will likely be the Jets' original Round 1 selection. That's because it's the one that could put the team in the best position to draft their quarterback of the future once the Geno Smith era is over.

That originalJetspick is slated to be No. 3 overall. Two teams that could also select top QBs at the 2027 draft in theMiami DolphinsandArizona Cardinalsare projected to have the top-two picks, respectively.

But it's still a great position to be in if the Jets still want quarterback next offseason.ESPNrecently projected as many as six quarterbacks could be selected in the first round in 2027.

SI's breakdown of the top projected picks at the 2027 draft can be found below:

What immediately sticks out is how the projected top-four will probably all be in the race for quarterbacks. The Miami Dolphins signed Malik Willis as a temporary solution to their full-blown rebuild. The Jets have the aforementioned three-first round picks with Geno Smith and Cade Klubnik at QB. TheCleveland Brownswill sort through the Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders mess, and the Arizona Cardinals will firmly be in the market, too.

Images from the scene in Belgium's central Flanders region showed a badly damaged minibus lying on its side on a road next to a railway line, with tents set up by emergency workers around. The commuter train remained halted on the tracks.

Police spokeswoman An Berger told Belgian media that seven children, a supervisor and a driver were on the minibus, adding that no one on the train was hurt.

In a statement, the police said the minibus was transporting students from a secondary education school for children with special needs. The police identified those killed as the 49-year-old driver of the minibus, a 27-year-old assistant and two children, adding that five other children were seriously injured but hospitalized in stable condition.

"The impact was extremely violent," Frederic Sacre, a spokesman for Belgium's Infrabel rail agency, told AFP, adding that the train had been traveling at 75 miles per hour.

"The minibus was thrown about 15 meters (50 feet) into a metal pylon," he said.

Sacre said video from the scene showed that road barriers at the railway crossing had been closed and a red light was showing at the time of the incident.

European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen joined in the stream of commiserations from politicians, saying she was "heartbroken" by the collision.

"My deepest condolences go out to the victims' families and their loved ones," she posted online. "Today, Europe grieves with Belgium."

Charles Barkley said the Cavs 'quit' in Game 4 during brutal takedown

ESPN NBA analyst Charles Barkley absolutely obliterated the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night during their Game 4 defeat to theNew York Knicks.

USA TODAY

During the halftime break, Barkley went so far as to say that the Cavs' Game 4 performance defined the word "quit" in the dictionary. Barkley called out the team's effort over a lowlight reel of Cavs on-court blunders.

Is Kenny Atkinson on the hot seat after Cavs playoff collapse?

It's one thing to say a team played poorly in a playoff exit; it's another thing entirely to accuse a team of quitting in the Eastern Conference Finals during a sweep. That's some scathing commentary from Barkley if you ask us.

Donovan Mitchell's fiery Game 4 speech to dejected Cavs bench is so sad

Barkley didn't mince his words; he said the Cavs quit. Is he right? You can't definitively say he's not.

Southern California Chemical Tank

The storage tank at GKN Aerospace with about 6,000 to 7,000 gallons (22,713 to 26,498 liters) of methyl methacrylateoverheated last weekand began venting vapors into the air around Garden Grove, a city in Orange County. Officials said over the weekend the tank could leak all the chemical or even explode if it overheats.

Firefighters have been spraying the tank with water in an effort to cool the chemicals heating up inside, and authorities were hopeful that a crack in the tank that occurred over the weekend would relieve pressure and reduce the risk of an explosion. Officials say there's no active leak and no chemicals have escaped from the tank.

No injuries have been reported, but more than 50,000 residents were under an evacuation order over the Memorial Day weekend.

Why is this chemical dangerous?

Methyl methacrylate is a flammable, colorless liquid used in the production of resins, plastics and plastic dentures and is a hazardous substance regulated by the federal government. It can irritate the lungs, eyes and skin and in high doses can cause reduced lung function, along with dizziness and memory problems, accordingto the Environmental Protection Agency.

In prolonged cases, exposure to methyl methacrylate can cause serious respiratory problems or render a person unconscious.

Tests have found that air pollution in the evacuation zone is within normal limits.

What is the problem with the tank?

The tank's drainage valves are not functioning, officials said, adding that without action, there could be either a large chemical spill or an explosion.

Firefighters focused on keeping the temperature of the tank under 85 degrees F (29.4 degrees C) to relieve pressure. On Sunday, EPA chief Lee Zeldin said the most likely scenario is a “low-volume release” of the tank’s contents, so officials can “monitor, neutralize, and contain the threat.”

What happens if it explodes?

If the temperature inside the tank rises, it will cause pressure to build as the methyl methacrylate converts from a liquid to a gas, increasing the risk of explosion, which could ignite other tanks at the site.

A blast that releases the chemical would send it into a wider area and could create vapors that are hazardous to inhale, according to Orange County's top health officer, Dr. Regina Chinsio-Kwong.

Aerial photos taken by The Associated Press showed streets in the area were empty Sunday, while several evacuation shelters were open.

The evacuation zone is west of Anaheim, home to Disneyland’s two theme parks, which were not under evacuation orders. Chinsio-Kwong said people outside the evacuation zone don't need to worry about health impacts.

What happens next?

Officials said Sunday that the crack in the tank could potentially lower the risk of an explosion. Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Wayhowe Huang said the tank did not appear to be releasing any of the toxic chemical into the atmosphere.

Fire officials planned to send in a team for “an all-night mission” to determine if the pressure has been relieved, which would reduce the worst-case scenario of an explosion, Orange County Fire Authority interim chief TJ McGovern said in a video posted late Sunday to the agency’s X account.

Zeldin said a low-volume and controlled release of the chemical would allow officials to relieve pressure on the tank. The company, GKN Aerospace, said Sunday that it continues to work with local authorities.
