Payne suffered fatal head injuries after falling from a third floor balcony at the CasaSur hotel in upscale Palermo, Buenos Aires on October 16, 2024. Seven months on from that fateful day in the Argentine capital, the singer's bereaved girlfriend Kate Cassidy discovered a previous social media tribute to the singer, who was just 31 at the time of his death, had been shared 4,444 times.
